A man is found dead just outside his home. The man is not the first to be killed in an identical manner, by someone who knew what they were doing. There is a serial killer at work, and Detective Inspector Bruce Appleby has only one lead, there is a common link to all the deceased men - The Candy Cane Club.
This is a private and exclusive TG club in the heart of Reading, but he finds the club unsurprisingly resistant to any form of intrusive investigation. No genetic females are employed in the club, only those girls who were all born boys. All the staff are transgendered in some way, and Bruce has to try to unlock the intelligence which can only be inside, either from the clients or the staff.
The only answer is to get someone inside, to work deep undercover without the knowledge of the club. In order to do so, they have to convince the management that they too are transgendered, but could they ever find a cop to volunteer for such an assignment.
One did, and for Police Constable Nick Winton, a whole new life is opened up. It begs some questions

This story is full of action with little luls here and thereBeing from the U.S. I'm not really familur with the terms and everything, but the story was excellent. I liked how Nicolas came to be her self, and once she discovered who she really was there was no turning back. The vacation was much needed by Nikki just to unwind & be the little girl & teen girl she missed out on. Now she can look foward and get on with her life. Now On to book 2.

I have read several books by Tanya Allan previous to this one, but this is definitely my favorite by far. It has a great plot, well developed characters, and a wonderful pace that makes it difficult to put the book down.
I would recommend this book to anyone I know.
Very good erotica and forced sex changed novel. Has second book that is very good too. I like all Tanya Allan's sex change novels. They include action and suspense as well as the standard erotica. Very interesting stories. Love her works. The stories are as good as the erotica and are long enough to be interesting.
One of Tanya Allen's best books, if not the best. It is a great story. Has a murder mystery that crosses the Atlantic, like able characters, love story, and is well-written.
One of Tanya Allan's best. Nick/Nikki's transition is described beautifully. However, the narrative was far more than that. It was a most engrossing detective story and told with sympathy from all sides, i.e. the T-girls, the owner of the Candy Cane Club, the police officials and the man they were hunting.
A very interesting/absorbing murder mystery with the added benefit that the undercover policeMAN has to pose as a waitress and discovers he is more fulfilled as a WOMEN plus even more surprises. This book keeps you on the edge of your seat, especially once the serial killer enters the story. Added benefit is it's spiritual approach to transgender rather than emphasizing the sex.
The Candy Cane Club is a good long novel(395 pages) that just keeps going. The story line uses the Candy Cane Club as the backdrop to the story, but most of the story takes place outside the club(geographical speaking). This story like all Tanya Allen books is well written. At first I found the character unbelievable since he goes from being a male to dressing like a female but, is able to not only be convincing as female but to be beautiful and behave as normal female although only undercover for a few days. Later we learn why he was so quick to pickup female behavior.
The story like all Tanya Allen books has a happy ending, it made me cry, and made me wish I could have been as lucky as Nick. What happens to Nick is what every transgender male wishes could happen to them. Without spoiling the story to much, I would just like to say that Nick passes for as female, because he was born with it. Again great story and I highly recommend it.
I had a problem trying to decide if this was a mystery with a TG subplot or a TG novel with a mystery subplot. Isaac Asimov once said to write good science fiction you need good science and good fiction. The mystery here was thin and predictable, and so was the TG aspect. If I had to guess, I would say this writer is in love with her creation. Did we really need to be reminded every page that the 'girl' was the best looking girl in every room or that she was smarter than everyone including her pending in laws? And who is that well adjusted that they could change gender in a week and not have ANY psychological problems at all! Even physical problems were handled in stride.
Some will like this writing but I found it fluff. I wanted to like it, that is why I gave it 3 stars.
